Meet your Ranchers

Jennifer Ewers

The brains and the mid wife behind the operation. Jennifer shepherds 100 plus breeding ewes and brings the babies to life. She has always fancied her sheep; countless hours in the lambing barn regardless of weather, she takes her responsibilities seriously, you'll never see her in the lambing barn without one of her trustworthy working dogs. Born a natural when it comes to livestock husbandry she also trains working border collies, enjoys training and riding her horses and an occasional kayak trip when the weather permits and the farm chores are caught up.

Ron Ewers

The brawn behind the operation. Ron retired from the U.S. Air Force and then entered another career in federal law enforcement. Having always been raised as a country boy, Ron has easily adapted to the sheep farming lifestyle over the past 17 years. Ron is a master chef specializing in wood fire cooking. You will never see Ron on the ranch without his trusty little dog "Frank". Frank is his right hand man besides Jennifer. Ron recently retired and enjoys spending his days working on the ranch. However, not just ranching, Ron enjoys many activities beyond sheep ranching which includes riding horses and kayaking with his wife Jennifer.

Frank(aka: Dinky)

Hi, my name is Frank (aka: Dinky) after 5 homes in 6 years, I have finally found paradise. I am dad's right hand assistant, checking lambs, rolling in stuff and digging. I love to ride on the tractor. No one ever thought I would be a ranch dog, but here I am killing it!

Chip

Behind every good shepherd is a good border collie. Chip is one of many working dogs on the ranch and specializes in lambing. You'll never find Jennifer at the barn in the middle of the night without Chip. Chip has a very quiet demeanor and understands the delicacy of lambs. Without Chip on the lambing team, life would be difficult in the barn.

Our Story

We started raising sheep 20 years ago. Yes it takes that long to perfect your flock. We had sheep originally to just train working dogs, as we gained more resources we were able to upgrade our flock. We bought our dream ranch in 2014 which enabled us to grow our numbers; we needed pastureland. We have worked from the ground up to now provide you with fresh American lamb, from our farm to your table. There is nothing better than home raised meat. We sure hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Feel free to also hop on over to the sheepdog page Canines N Ewe  and visit our training facility!
